Hi, I would like to buy some knee high boots, but my sister told me that knee high boots would make me look shorter, or they would make me look like I’m wearing granny boots, so she advised me to buy ankle boots. But my cousin who is a bit taller than me (4′ 11″) wore knee-highs and they look good on her.
What is your opinion?

Hi Julie,
Yes you can! Tall boots can be very flattering on petites. My advice is to have them come taller the mid calf, the best height is at the knee. Pair your boots with matching opaque tights or jeans. If you liked the knee-highs on your cousin, you could wear those underneath with matching tights under the socks (for colder winters). I suggest that you only wear ankle boots with pants, because they will definitely make your legs look shorter. It sounds like your sister meant well, but she got the advise backwards, because I could never imagine tall boots looking granny like.
Hope this helps,
xx

Great advice for boots!
The boots look great on these models.i think they look great on anyone who has a slim leg, what do you think if you have thick thighs should you wear them.
You always have great advice
Thanks,I’m going to buy a pair-Julie
Very nice to see some of my favorite petite celebrities looking fierce. I am 5 ft even and I wear knee high boot all the time. As long as they have a sufficient heel, it usually looks fabulous.

Can’t wait to get some knee highs… yeah the sister definitely got her advice completely backwards… thank god too because I hate ankle boots :p
When I wear tall boots they come over the knee – which looks absolutely ridiculous! Where are you finding tall boots that don't look like you are playing dress up in mommy's clothes? I am 5' tall – evenly propertioned in height. Scrunch boots come half way up my calf. If you are thin enough they look very nice. If you are fat, they don't. I've never worn the short boot (that comes just above the ankle). So I have no opinion about those.
What about knee high boots, and jeans rolled up over them? I bought some skinny jeans and folded them up a couple times. Is that ok? Or do you always have to tuck them in?
You can definitely see your enthusiasm in the work you write. The arena hopes for more passionate writers like you who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. Always follow your heart.
Are there any good brands of tall boots for short women?
There are lots of great brands with tall boots. I would suggest going to http://www.zappos.com (they have lots of small sizes available) and start there. I have lots of great tall boots from Report and they carry them at http://www.nordstrom.com Let me know what you find!
I find fabulous tall boots on Zappos frequently. I will also shop for my favorite brands on Ebay. For petites with very slim legs, a shoe cobbler can resize the shaft of the boot for a perfect fit. As a five foot tall, slim petite, a good tailor and a good shoe cobbler is a necessity!
