I came across a video this weekend featuring fashion guru, Tim Gunn on Marlo Thomas’ web series “Mondays With Marlo” discussing ‘How to Dress if You’re Petite’ so I wanted to share. Take a look at the short video below!

Key tips from Tim:
Be careful about prints and scale.
For women 35 and over be conscious of how much skin you’re showing.
It’s really all about how good you look and feel instead of how tall or short you are. For example, if you look good and feel good about what you’re wearing, the last thing someone will notice is your height (or lack there of)!

I’ve always been a huge fan of ALDO. I love their shoes, I love their prices and most of all my feet love that they carry size 5.

Warm summer nights and bright cheerful colors have been on my mind lately so when I caught a glimpse of ALDO’s latest SS12 video I was obviously smitten. This season, ALDO’s Rise SS12 collection features designers JW Anderson, Preen, Libertine and Faster by Mark Fast. Each designer brings something different and refreshing to the collection.

My favorite design is the Cregger pump (featured in the video above) by designer Mark Fast. I love the pops of color, the 4″ heel height and the overall sweetness of the design.

What’s your favorite look from the collection?

I know, I know — another reality show, another competition. This one’s got my attention though.

NBC’s new reality competition show, “Fashion Star“ premieres tonight with two of my favorite petite celebrities Jessica Simpson (5’3) and Nicole Richie (5’1) on the judging panel.

Fourteen designers will have the chance to show mini collections to both the mentoring judges (Simpson, Richie and John Varvatos) as well as a panel of buyers judges from H&M, Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue. Ultimately the buyers have the final vote and the retailer with the highest offer will manufacture the outfit and have it available in stores the morning after the show airs.

Crazy huh! I am at least interested enough to try it out and see what it’s like. Just don’t tell anyone over at Project Runway.
