Moving to a new city always proves its challenges. For me, this includes finding new local boutiques. I know, it sounds crazy, but there’s just something I love about shopping locally and knowing what I’m buying is more one-of-a-kind than anything else I’d find in a store at a mall. After moving to Fort Lauderdale, I had a hard time finding a great boutique — until I heard about Etiquette.
Etiquette Boutique here in Fort Lauderdale is just what I was looking for. The boutique is locally-owned by mother and son team, Nola and David Harris who have owned a string of successful boutiques both in Nashville, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky. After researching all of South Florida for about five months, they decided Fort Lauderdale was the clear choice for their flagship of Etiquette stores, opening the first boutique at The Harbor Shops in early 2012. The styles inside Etiquette Boutique are hand-selected and offer a mix of both investment and trendy pieces. Filling a void in the Fort Lauderdale shopping scene, Etiquette offers savvy shoppers an alternative to malls and online shopping with affordable pieces to round out their wardrobe — just what I was looking for! With about 70 new styles arriving weekly, the selection is perpetually changing – giving fashion enthusiasts all the more reason to check back often. Etiquette only pulls about six of each style to ensure the dreaded “OMG-she’s-wearing-the-same-dress” moment is avoided whenever possible.
In the coming weeks, Etiquette will be opening their second location here in Fort Lauderdale at Union Planters Plaza with an evening of fashion and fun. The event will be coordinated by Aileen from Newsy Parents. Myself, along with five other local fashion bloggers including, Chic Stylista, Sky Style Couture Life, StyledWithPoise, April Golightly, and Living In Color Print, will be on-hand at the event to style and offer festive fashion tips.
