Happy New Year! I hope everyone is feeling inspired and grateful to start a new year.
Here are a few resolutions to make if you’re guilty of them:
Wearing or even still owning jeans that are too tight:
Ladies if you’re holding on to jeans that are sooo tight that the only way that they’ll fit is after getting a stomach flu- PASS THEM ON!
Dress for your body now, not the body that you had. Trust me you’ll look much better and feel more comfortable.
Many women are guilty of this, but I think petite women especially. The reason for this is that we’re so used to not being able to find clothes that fit, that when we find something that is tight we often think it fits, because it’s not too big.
I realized I was guilty of this too. I’ve been forever buying and uncomfortably wearing size 24 jeans. I’ve realized that just because they fit dosen’t mean that they’re flattering.
I promise to only wear jeans and pants that make me look and feel great!
Invest in classic well tailored pieces.
You can buy key basics, casuals and trendy pieces at less expensive places.
Treat yourself (within your means) to an amazing blazer, the perfect white dress shirt, the most flattering pair of dress pants, a pencil skirt, a professional suit dress and/or a trench coat.
REDISCOVER THE CLASSICS and build your wardrobe around those pieces.
If your boobs are out, put away your legs and vice versa.
If you’re mindful of this rule you’ll always master the perfect combination of sexy and classy.
What resolutions are you making?

I resolve to finally start dressing for my height and shape, and wear more skirts/dresses. Petite Fashionista has made a huge difference to me in the past few months – Thanks Christa!
If you’re looking for new jeans for the new year, I’d highly recommend Delia’s if they’re in your state (sorry, not yet in Canada, although I’m sure they’ll ship there.)
I went to Delia’s yesterday and their jeans wall had styles in long, regular, short, AND petite. I was totally confused and I had to ask… “What’s the difference between the ‘short’ and the ‘petite?’”
The salesgirl told me the difference was 2-inches. So, petite has an inseam of 26″ and short is 28″. The petite is perfect for me! And they’re so soft and have that worn-in feel instead of stiff.
They don’t have many of the 26″ pants on their website just yet, but I’m guessing in the new season they will. Check it out! http://www.delias.com
