Petite A La Mode – Short And Sweet

Take note petites because there’s a new clothing line in town. It might be petite and it might be short and sweet but it means serious business!

Petite A La Mode  is an all new petite clothing collection designed specifically for the career oriented petite woman. Fellow petite fashionista, Sheryl de Leon (5’2) decided something needed to change for petite business women. All of her designs have been created to compliment petite figures while maintaining a stylish, chic, and professional feel.

I recently had the pleasure of catching up with Petite A La Mode to discuss business, plans for the future and everything in between. Check out the interview below:

Petite Fashionista: Can you tell us about A La Mode?

Petite A La Mode: A La Mode was created for petite women that are tired of scouring the internet to find clothes that are made for them. Our goal is to provide fashionable, chic, and sophisticated styles that not only compliments the petite frame, but  clothes with  styles that can are versatile and can be worn outside of the work as well. With career and busy lives, it is hard enough to have these responsibilities so we decided to focus on career-oriented women and  to serve them. “You focus on your career and we focus on the fit.”

What made you decide to start A La Mode?

About a year ago, we created A La Mode to serve the petite community.  We wanted to focus on career and office wear because of Sheryl’s frustrations of not finding the  clothes that really met her needs when she was working in the corporate space. “As a career-oriented woman, I wanted to focus of my career and finding time to get my pants hemmed and cut or shopping as the junior section was not something I wanted to make time for or looked forward to.” Although I was able to find clothes that fit me, it was usually very expensive, so I decided to start a company just for petite women and serve them.”

Your new website was just recently launched — can you tell us a little about it?

Yes, we are excited to announce that after a year of working to make this happen that we are open for business. Right now as a way to celebrate with the petite community, we are starting with a great promotion of 30% off using the promocode GRANDOPEN30.

What do you have planned for A La Mode in the future?

We plan to eventually provide other petite items such as accessories and shoes.

How would you describe your own personal petite style?

I would describe my style as chic, sophisticated, and classic. Although I love and appreciate the trends and the changes, I always believe that having your own personal style is important. You have to feel confident and feel good in what you are wearing so I often incorporate what is trendy, if the style is something I feel good about. I also like to buy clothes that compliment what I already have.

If you could give petite women one piece of fashion advice what would it be?

Feel proud to be petite. There is nothing wrong with it! Go with your gut if you don’t feel right about wearing it, then don’t. Fashion is about being who you are and expressing yourself.
