The name L~Shandi is a short for “Lepa Shandi” which is Nigerian slang complimentary of a lady whose attire is fit, flattering and flawless. Lara was born and raised in Nigeria and her culture is evident in her collection. And, what a woman on the go! Lara is an entrepreneur/mother, juggling many roles and responsibilities.

Tell us about the origins of L~Shandi fashions and what makes them unique?
L~Shandi Designs are inspired by my love for fabrics that are indigenous to the African market/fashion; my designs are unique in terms of the way I use the fabrics in my collection.







What products/ garments do you offer?
Women’s clothing and accessories.

What inspires you to create your collections?

I’m inspired by the beautiful fabric designs and colors.

What are your top fashion must haves for women on the go?

I think every woman should have a basic color ensemble in a color that is perfect for her skin color (by the way, it’s not always black!) and a personality piece (something that tells others about
you and your sense of style) like the 2 you see here.

How are you juggling a fashion line and being an entrepreneur?

I’m managing it with lots of planning and developing solid, long lasting relationships with my business associates.

My fashions can be purchased online or through the stores listed on my website

What’s next for L~Shandi? Are there new areas of fashion and beauty that you are exploring for a potential launch soon?
Yes, I am exploring designs in home decoration/accents that will be launched in 2009.
