Trench Coats For Petites
The cold weather seems to be approaching fast (at least where I am) and if you’re anything like me you’re trying to plan ahead for the “colder than normal” weather we’re all supposed to have this winter.
One of the biggest trends you’ll see this season is the trench coat. Even though they’re calling it a trend, the fact is the trench has never really gone out of style. It’s been around for years and years and always seems to stay pretty classic. Of course over the years there have been some modifications here and there and some added flare but the shape has really stayed the same for the most part.
For petites it can be freakishly easy to get swallowed up and lost in winter coats and jackets because of their bulkiness and length but have no fear — I’ve gathered some great options for you below.
When shopping for your perfect trench just remember to pay attention to the length of the coat. Make sure to look for a trench that is shorter than most and one without a belt. Having a coat without a belt eliminates the possibility of it not hitting you at the waist where it should. Having a shorter trench will also eliminate the possibility of being overwhelmed by the coat and god forbid have the coat wear you! Please don’t let this happen…
The photo above of Kourtney Kardashian (5’0″) is a great model to follow. She’s one of my favorite petite celebrities! Kourtney is wearing a shorter trench with no belt and as you can see it looks great. She’s also wearing booties which some people think can’t be pulled off by petite women but if you do what Kourtney is doing and keep the color of your booties the same as your leggings/tights etc then you’ll be fine!
Here’s a list of some great places to look for your perfect winter trench:
1. Banana Republic Petite Outerwear
3. Lord & Taylor Petite Outerwear
**Kourtney is wearing a McGinn “Princess boucle” trench coat in cream. McGinn can be found at Nordstrom.
