Hey Christa,
Its Bon here again!!
I have an interview for art college soon, and I’m not sure what sort of thing to wear? Do you think I should wear my own usual thing (Jeans, top, flat dolly shoes) and dress it up slightly?
xx
Hi Bon,
Great to hear from you again. Congrats on the interview!
The most important thing to remember when choosing an outfit for an artsy interview, whether it be at an art gallery, ad agency, or for school is showing your personality. Your look should be very edited and neat. Meaning that whatever your look or style is, it should not be confusing for your first impression with the interviewer.
My advice would be to choose either a funky pair of wide leg dress pants or dark jeans, a nicely fitted top, a wrap jacket, a smart leather bag that can carry your portfolio and a comfortable pair of wedge heels.
The jeans pictured: 7 for All Mankind – Ginger Wide Leg – Light Weight Mercer.
Best of luck! Let us know how it goes!
