Stitch Fix For Petites

Stitch Fix PetitesStitch Fix is an affordable and accessible personal online styling service that helps you look and feel your best every day. They deliver a shopping experience that is truly personalized for you. For those that hate shopping, don’t have the time to shop, or those that have a hard time knowing what works best for their body type, Stitch Fix is here to help.

When Stitch Fix began in 2011 they didn’t offer petite clothing but now, thanks to what I’d assume was an overwhelming demand, they’re finally offering petites!  So for those of you that are interested in trying the Stitch Fix service, head over to their site and simply fill out the Stitch Fix Style Profile. Their personal stylists will handpick a selection of five clothing items and accessories unique to your taste, budget, and lifestyle and before you know it, a pretty little box will show up at your doorstep! From there, you purchase what you like and return the rest. Simple as that!

Here are some of the FAQ’s regarding their new petite sizes:

Do you offer petite sizing?

Yes! We are very excited to offer petite sizes to our clients! We now offer petite along with our regular selection of inventory.

What is the difference between your regular inventory and petite sizes?

Our petite selection offers our clients access to inventory with shorter sleeves, narrower shoulders, and shorter hems and inseams—all to fit you better!

Now that you offer petites, do I need to change my size?

No need to change your sizes, they stay the same! Just let your Stylist know that you would like to receive petites by updating your Style Profile.

Who are petite sizes offered to?

Our petite sizes are recommended for clients 5’3” and under. If you feel that petite sizes fit you best, and you are over 5’3”, please reach out to customer service at and they can help you find your best fit.

I’m petite on top, but not bottom. Can I get regular-sizing for certain items & petite sizing for others?

Absolutely! Go to your Style Profile and let us know which categories (tops, bottoms etc.) you are interested in receiving petite items. And, make sure to leave your Stylist a note when you schedule a Fix!______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I’ll be honest and say that Stitch Fix doesn’t sound incredibly appealing for me. The only reason I say this is because I enjoy shopping waaaay too much but I certainly love the idea so now that they have petites I may have to try it out!

Have you tried Stitch Fix? If so, let me know what you think. I’d love to hear your feedback!

Classic Wool Coats For Petites

It’s been a crazy few months and I apologize for not regularly maintaining the site like I have in the past — but I’m back now. I plan on posting at least once a week again with fresh new ideas, topics, petite clothing finds, and much more.

We recently made the move back to the Pacific Northwest from South Florida. Our time in South Florida was something we’ll never forget — we made lots of amazing friends and had great time — but being back in the Northwest is wonderful. Okay, enough about that, lets talk fashion.

The weather’s been unseasonable warm and dry here for the Northwest. By warm, I don’t exactly mean beach weather, but it’s been really beautiful for Winter. I still needed a new coat though. I bought a classic black wool peacoat from Nordstrom years ago (like, we’re talking ten years ago) that held up like a champ. I love buying classic pieces that I know will last but after ten years, it was time.

I’d been doing my research on coats and knew that Burberry was going to be my final decision. I know they’re expensive but when it comes to classic pieces that I know I’ll wear for years, it’s worth it to me. I read a review from Jean at Extra Petite saying that the Burberry Rushworth coat is a great pick for its “sleek silhouette and funnel collar, with edgier buckle on the underside”. I decided to go for it so I ordered it in a size 2 and picked it up at my local Neiman Marcus. The coat fit perfectly. I love its streamline silhouette and funnel collar (for a little edge and  to keep that cold wind off my neck!). The coat is very heavy and exceptionally well made so I have no doubt it will last me for many years to come.

If the Burberry Rushworth isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, I’ve done my research on some other classic wool coats perfect for petite figures below.

Do you have a favorite wool coat for the chillier months? Let me know! I’d love to hear about them.

Recap: Etiquette Boutique Grand Opening Party

Last month, I attended the grand opening party for Etiquette Boutique’s second location here in Fort Lauderdale. Before the event, myself, along with other fabulous fashion bloggers including, Poise from  Styled with Poise, Afroza from The Chic Stylista, Alina of Sky Style Couture, April from April Golightly . We each pulled an outfit from Etiquettes amazing selection of clothes for a live model to wear during the event. The event was a huge hit and included a bar serving signature cocktails, a DJ spinning great music, and tasty cupcakes.

I styled my model in some high waisted white lace shorts paired with a light weight flowy blue tank. I accessorized the outfit with a beautiful blue jeweled statement necklace and strappy nude heels — making her legs look even LONGER than they already are. In this photo, I am wearing a maxi skirt I bought from Etiquette Boutique, basic black tank from Cynthia Rowley, black belt from Forever 21 and heels (not shown) from BCBG. My heels were extremely tall and my model still felt the need to bend her legs so she wasn’t towering over me as much (we’re not all blessed with such height).

If you haven’t already been to the new location, I highly recommend it — you’ll want one of everything.

New York State of Mind: Springtime in the City

I was so excited to head to New York City again this month. This was only my second time to the “Big Apple”, my first being this past December during the holidays which was fantastic but cold to say the least. Going from 80 degrees in South Florida to a bone chilling 19 degrees and snow in NYC was a shocker but I still loved every minute. This trip was a little different but still a bit chilly.

This last trip a couple weeks ago was still cold (compared to Fort Lauderdale standards) but the snow was gone. Things were blooming and birds were chirping. I’d missed the bustling city streets and the screaming sirens. To some this may sound strange but to me, the city is where I thrive. While my husband was working, (it was a business trip for him) I explored the streets. I decided to ditch the map and wander instead. I explored all kinds of small boutiques, larger chains (Bergdorfs on Fifth is always a must) and tiny side streets lined with cherry blossoms and townhomes.

During the trip, I relied on my trusty leather jacket from Barney’s (similar here), Dolce Vita combat boots in black (find here) and Seven for all Mankind cropped skinny jeans (find here). I also wore my Vince Camuto “Hillari” ankle wedge boots (find here).
